Elham received her BSc and MSc in Iran in Cellular and Molecular Biology where she studied novel biomarkers of Multiple Sclerosis. She started her PhD journey at UBC in 2020 where she received The Dean of Education Scholarship in her first year. She is currently studying immunologic and pharmacologic aspects of glioblastoma at UOttawa, specifically working with patient-derived brain tumour stem cells. In her free time, Elham enjoys being out in nature, biking, and yoga.

Mohammad Al Ayach (PhD Candidate)

Mohammad Al Ayach (PhD Candidate)

Mohammad is a PhD Candidate in Cellular and Molecular Medicine at the University of Ottawa, and holds a BSc in Neuroscience from the University of Guelph. His current research focuses on differentiation of brain tumor stem cells in glioblastoma, with an emphasis on OSMR. Outside the lab, he finds joy in a variety of activities, including listening to music, taking leisurely walks, and reading.

Farzad Nazari (PhD Student)

Mohammad Al Ayach (PhD Candidate)

With a background in immunology, Farzad founded a clinical division focused on hematopoietic stem cells and kidney transplantation in Iran. After two years in this role, he moved to Canada to further his expertise. Farzad joined our lab as a PhD student to explore the signalling pathways of brain tumour stem cells in glioblastoma. Living every single moment of life is his hobby, as he says.
